Passing of Station Chief Lanny Carther


It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Station Chief Lanny Carther, a long-serving firefighter within our fire family. Lanny passed away today, Friday January 27th.

Lanny was born on April 8, 1946. He joined the Thamesville-Camden Fire Department in April of 1968. He was an active and trusted member of the fire service for over forty-three years. He was a valued and caring person and a very experienced firefighter. The Chatham-Kent Fire & Emergency Services and all who worked with him recognize and mourn this loss.

Our deepest and heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends as they deal with this sad loss.

NOTE: There will be a firefighter walk through on Monday evening. Firefighters please muster at Thamesville Fire Station, 97 Industrial Rd, Thamesville at 6:15 pm. There is parking behind the firehall. We will proceed to the nearby funeral home as a group at 6:30 pm.
