Chatham-Kent Firefighters mourn the loss of Firefighter Robert (Bob) VanGoethem
It is with deepest regret that we announce that after a brave and determined fight, Robert (Bob) VanGoethem has succumbed to the disease of brain cancer on Thursday August 19, 2010.
Bob was born on Sept. 15, 1978. He was a valued and trusted member of the fire service.
He was a person who exhibited a genuine willingness to serve others. Chatham-Kent Fire & Emergency Services, those who worked with him and walked with him through this journey recognize and mourn this loss.
Our deepest and heartfelt condolences go out to his wife Sarah, his three children Kirsten, Kael, and Scarlett as well as family and friends as they deal with this sad loss.

Bob also served as part of the Chatham-Kent Firefighter’s Honour Guard.
